Now even more powerful and built around the most beautiful and safest route the event has ever had, Edition IX of the NorthCape4000 confirms two major innovations — warmly embraced by our riders and the wider bikepacking community.
Improvements that stay true to the spirit of the event, yet open the door for even more people to take on one of the most extraordinary and life-changing experiences imaginable.
Extra Time Finisher Title
We believe everyone deserves the chance to live — and complete — an extraordinary journey like the NorthCape4000.
Even those who take on the adventure at a more relaxed pace should have the opportunity to reach the end.
That’s why we’ve extended the overall duration of the event and confirmed, once again for Edition IX, the Extra Time Finisher title.
A special achievement, designed for those who choose to ride an average of just 150 km per day — the perfect rhythm to truly savour every landscape, every border, every encounter.
A unique way to embrace the full beauty of this adventure and share it with hundreds of riders from all over the world.
Intermediate Start from Berlin
Enhanced, expanded, and more magical than ever: Edition IX will once again feature one of the most exciting additions introduced in 2025 — the intermediate start from the extraordinary city of Berlin.
A choice designed for those with limited time, or for those who prefer a shorter distance — without giving up the spirit, the magic, or the shared energy of the NorthCape4000.
Riders starting from Berlin will take on a 3,000 km adventure, saving around one week compared to the full route from Rovereto — but losing nothing in terms of emotion, landscapes, or the deep sense of achievement.
Riders departing from the German capital will appear in a dedicated Finisher List, created to celebrate this new shade of the great journey to the North.
FIXED ROUTE
One Extraordinary Route, the same for everyone. Thousands of unforgettable miles, countless emotions, and pure adrenaline — all leading to the Great North.
GATES
There are 4 mandatory Gates that every participant must pass through. Each Gate is also a place to pause, catch your breath, and have your pass validated.
UNSUPPORTED
A Legendary Adventure demands Legendary Participants. No outside support, full self-reliance. The Title of Finisher must be earned.
TIME LIMIT
Live the Event at your own pace — but to be officially recognized as a Finisher or Extra Time Finisher, you must respect the minimum restart times and the final deadline to reach Nordkapp.
INTERMEDIATE START
Those with less time (or fewer kilometers in their legs) can choose to start directly from Berlin, taking on a shorter distance of around 3,000 km.
